President of Azerbaijan NAS Discusses Scientific Collaboration with Uzbekistan Delegation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Academician Isa Habibbayli, held a significant meeting with a high-profile delegation from Uzbekistan, comprising First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Akmal Saidov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan, Bakhrom Ashrafkhanov, and Director-General of the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan, Firdavs Abdukhalikov, according to media reports.

During the meeting, Academician Isa Habibbayli provided detailed insights into the historical significance of the Ismailiyya building, an essential cultural monument housing the Presidium, and elaborated on the diverse scientific research initiatives pursued at ANAS.

Underlining the deep-rooted and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, Habibbayli emphasized that these ties, anchored in shared historical roots, language, and culture, have entered a new era owing to the close friendship and brotherly relations between President Ilham Aliyev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Academician Habibbayli highlighted the close cooperation between ANAS and the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan (UzAS) and other higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan. He stressed that the scientific relations between the two countries have been steadily advancing, particularly in the fields of linguistics and manuscripts.

Speaking on the collaborative research efforts, Academician Akmal Saidov expressed appreciation for the research conducted on Uzbek literature at ANAS. He noted that Uzbekistan would celebrate the 530th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker, Muhammad Fuzuli. Acknowledging the mutual scientific collaboration, Saidov emphasized the importance of signing a cooperation agreement on epigraphy and conducting joint research by Azerbaijani and Uzbek scientists in this regard.

The meeting affirmed the commitment of both nations to strengthen scientific ties and foster collaborative research initiatives, reflecting the shared pursuit of knowledge and cultural exchange.
