President of Kazakhstan Ratifies Trade and Logistics Complex Agreement with Kyrgyzstan

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The President of Kazakhstan has officially signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan ratifying the agreement between the Kazakh and Kyrgyz governments concerning the construction and regulation of an industrial trade and logistics complex. This agreement pertains to the development of facilities at the Karasu and Ak Tilek road-transport checkpoints, according to a report from the Akorda press service.

The text of the law will be made available to the public through official publications.

Earlier this month, the Kazakh Senate deputies ratified the agreement, which aims to establish a comprehensive industrial trade and logistics complex. The primary objectives of the complex include enhancing cooperation in warehousing, storage, consolidation, and processing of goods, as well as integrating these activities into international commodity systems. Additionally, the complex will offer short-term warehousing, logistics, lease services, and legal and financial consultations.

The planned complex will cover a total area of 7,600 square meters, with 3,600 square meters allocated in Kazakhstan and the remaining 4,000 square meters in Kyrgyzstan.

The intergovernmental agreement that outlines the creation and operational management of the complex was signed on June 9, 2023, in Astana.
