President of Turkmenistan Meets Chinese President Xi Jinping in Astana

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the Second China–Central Asia Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan, Turkmen state media reported.

During the meeting, the two heads of state discussed the strategic nature of Turkmen-Chinese relations and emphasized their mutual commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation. They exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of collaboration, as well as on key regional and international matters of shared concern.

According to China’s Xinhua News Agency, President Xi Jinping reaffirmed China’s readiness to deepen ties with Turkmenistan on the basis of mutual respect and benefit. He underscored the importance of expanding energy cooperation, diversifying into non-resource sectors, and enhancing the structure and volume of bilateral trade.

President Xi also expressed China’s support for Turkmenistan’s aspirations to join the World Trade Organization, noting that such a step would contribute to regional economic integration and development.

President Berdimuhamedov arrived in Astana to attend the Second China–Central Asia Summit, which aims to foster stronger ties and coordinated development among participating countries.
