President of Turkmenistan Meets Japanese Parliamentary Leader to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Tokyo, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with Endo Toshiaki, Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, on Monday, as part of his official visit to Japan, Turkmen media reported.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both nations to further deepen their strategic partnership across political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

During the talks, particular emphasis was placed on the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in fostering greater mutual understanding and trust between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Japan. Both sides acknowledged the importance of continued dialogue between legislative bodies as a foundation for long-term collaboration.

President Berdimuhamedov commended the activities of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, noting its valuable contribution to the development of bilateral relations.

The Turkmen leader’s visit to Japan coincides with preparations for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, in which Turkmenistan is actively participating. His presence at the event highlights Turkmenistan’s commitment to global cooperation and technological innovation through international platforms such as the World Expo.

The visit is expected to further reinforce diplomatic and parliamentary ties while expanding avenues for cultural and economic cooperation between Ashgabat and Tokyo.
