President of Turkmenistan meets with PM of Tajikstan
Dushanbe, The Gulf Observer: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Thursday at the Mejlisler Hall of the Government Residence in Dushanbe met with Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda and confirmed the readiness to carefully consider the possibility of implementing the first pilot project to establish a textile factory in Tajikistan with the participation of Turkmen companies.
The sides discussed the development of economic cooperation, including bilateral trade ties, expanding the range of mutually supplied goods, and increasing the volume of export-import operations. To coordinate this work, President Berdimuhamedov proposed to start the practical implementation of the project of creating trading houses in the capitals of both countries, the official Turkmen media reported.
During his two-day state visit to Tajikistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda and discussed several identified areas of the interstate dialogue, particularly in the transport sector.
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan’s commitment to developing regional and international cooperation in the field, and proposed the establishment of new transport and transit corridors between the two countries, connecting Central and South Asia to the Middle East.
The Prime Minister expressed his confidence that the talks held the day before and the agreements reached would contribute to the further expansion of cooperation that benefits both countries.
Upon their meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of Tajikistan exchanged good wishes and expressed their confidence in the successful continuation of their friendly and mutually beneficial relationship between the two brotherly peoples. President Berdimuhamedov also visited Emomali Rahmon’s country residence Taqob located near Dushanbe.
