President of Uzbekistan performs Umrah
Makkah, The Gulf Observer: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is in Saudi Arabia on his first foreign visit after being elected Head of State, visited the main shrine of Islam – the city of Makkah.
On July 19 – on the first day of the month of Muharram of the new year 1445 Hijri, the President of Uzbekistan donned special Ihram clothing and performed the rituals of Umrah. The Leader of Uzbekistan was given the great honor to enter the Holy Ka`bah and perform the prayer.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev performed Tawaf seven times, that is, a circumambulation around the Ka`bah and walking between the Safa and Marwa hills seven times. A dua was recited with a request for the prosperity of our Motherland, peace, and well-being for our people, happiness, and a bright future for all our compatriots and the younger generation.
It should be noted that today the Kiswa changing ceremony, the traditional cloth that covers the Ka`bah, took place.
