President of Uzbekistan Receives Qatari Delegation Led by Minister of Finance

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a high-level delegation from the State of Qatar, led by Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, who was in Tashkent for the Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). During the meeting, Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari conveyed greetings and best wishes from the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to President Mirziyoyev, underscoring the strong ties between the two nations.

The discussions focused on further enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the trade and economic sectors. Both sides emphasized the importance of promoting joint projects in key areas such as green energy, transport, healthcare, tourism, and infrastructure development. The leaders expressed mutual interest in deepening partnerships in these sectors to foster sustainable economic growth and mutual prosperity.

It was also noted that a meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a joint business forum will take place in Doha before the end of the year, aimed at bolstering economic collaboration and exploring new opportunities for investment between Uzbekistan and Qatar.

In addition to economic ties, the talks highlighted the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries, recognizing the role such efforts play in enhancing mutual understanding and friendship.

This meeting reflects the growing partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar, with both sides committed to deepening cooperation across a wide range of sectors for the benefit of their peoples.
