President Pezeshkian Calls for Cross-Sector Coordination to Strengthen Governance

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Sunday underscored the importance of responsive governance, stating that effective cross-sector and cross-jurisdictional coordination among state agencies is essential for improving productivity and accelerating policy implementation.
Speaking at a meeting of the Coordination Council of his deputies, President Pezeshkian called for precise performance evaluation mechanisms and the targeted allocation of government resources based on measurable outcomes achieved by relevant agencies.
The session, held under the theme “Suggestions for Effective Governance: Analyzing Cross-Sectoral Challenges and Providing Solutions,” reviewed pressing domestic issues and explored strategies to enhance administrative efficiency. Discussions focused on strengthening responsiveness, safeguarding citizens’ rights, promoting transparency and intensifying efforts to combat corruption.
The president emphasized that reinforcing cooperation across sectors would contribute to greater transparency and foster a more effective and streamlined decision-making system. He further stressed the need for clearly defined institutional missions and the development of expert guidelines to address cross-sectoral challenges.
Referring to the unrest that occurred in January, Pezeshkian called for transparent and accurate reporting on the scope and circumstances of the events. He said he had instructed relevant authorities to conduct a comprehensive and impartial investigation into all related cases.
During the meeting, the president’s deputies also presented proposals and recommendations aligned with their respective areas of responsibility, aimed at improving governance and administrative performance nationwide.
