President Pezeshkian Extends Nowruz Greetings, Emphasizes Renewal and National Unity

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has extended his warmest congratulations to the Iranian people and all Nowruz-celebrating nations on the occasion of the Persian New Year.

Speaking on national television at noon on Thursday, President Pezeshkian conveyed his heartfelt wishes for happiness, friendship, and peace to Iranians both at home and abroad, as well as to all nations that commemorate the ancient festival. He underscored the significance of Nowruz coinciding with Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power) this year, describing both occasions as profound symbols of renewal and transformation.

“Nowruz marks the opening of a new season, while Laylat al-Qadr is a time when Muslims pray for a better destiny,” President Pezeshkian stated. “These nights serve as an opportunity to purify our souls and embrace a new beginning. However, our worth and the worth of our homeland extend far beyond our current situation. We must strive for a future that is greater and more dignified.”

The president also paid tribute to key historical and contemporary figures, commemorating the first Shia Imam, Imam Ali (PBUH), whose martyrdom anniversary falls on March 22. He further honored his predecessor, the late President Ebrahim Raisi, who perished along with members of his delegation in the early months of the past Iranian year. Additionally, Pezeshkian recognized regional resistance leaders and expressed solidarity with the Lebanese and Palestinian people affected by recent conflicts.

Reflecting on the challenges of the past year, he acknowledged the hardships endured by the Iranian people and emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to fostering national unity and overcoming adversity. “We will determine our worth to be greater, higher, and more dignified than we have had before,” he affirmed.

President Pezeshkian reiterated his government’s dedication to tackling key domestic challenges, pledging decisive action on economic issues, particularly inflation. He emphasized that livelihood, housing, healthcare, and education remain top priorities in the new Iranian year.

“We are determined to bring about change,” he asserted, stressing that meaningful reform requires abandoning ineffective past methods. “If we seek to change our circumstances, we must address imbalances through expert guidance and the active participation of academics, economists, cultural figures, and every Iranian citizen.”

Message to Nowruz-Celebrating Nations

In a separate statement, President Pezeshkian extended his greetings to officials and citizens of other nations celebrating Nowruz, highlighting its enduring significance as a symbol of renewal and hope.

“Spring represents harmony in nature and is a source of kindness, empathy, and rejuvenation,” he remarked. “I hope that this New Year brings about a profound transformation in the friendly relations between our countries and contributes to the well-being of our people.”

As Iranians and millions around the world welcome the arrival of spring, President Pezeshkian reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering unity, stability, and prosperity for the nation and beyond.
