President Prabowo Awards Peruvian President Dina Boluarte with Highest National Honor

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Monday conferred the country’s highest accolade, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna (Adipurna Star), on visiting Peruvian President Dina Boluarte, recognizing her pivotal role in enhancing bilateral relations between Indonesia and Peru.
Speaking at a joint press conference at Merdeka Palace, President Prabowo stated, “Today, I have awarded the highest honor from our country, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, to the Peruvian president for her significant service and role in strengthening friendship and cooperation between our countries.”
President Boluarte received the distinguished sash, worn from her right shoulder to her left waist, during the formal ceremony.
The award presentation coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Peru and marked the first-ever state visit by a Peruvian president to Indonesia.
Reflecting on the growing partnership, President Prabowo recalled receiving Peru’s highest honor — the Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru — from President Boluarte during his visit to Lima in November 2024, describing it as “an honor for the entire Indonesian nation.”
During the meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of significant agreements, including the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and a joint declaration commemorating five decades of cooperation.
They also committed to intensifying collaboration in key sectors such as food, mining, energy transition, fisheries, defense, and joint efforts to combat drug-related crimes and illegal trade.
