President Prabowo Chairs Cabinet Meeting on National Stability

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, chaired a plenary cabinet meeting on Sunday at the Presidential Palace to deliberate strategic measures for safeguarding national stability in the face of rising socio-political tensions.
Following the session, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin conveyed the outcomes, noting that President Prabowo is closely monitoring national developments and has instructed the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police to remain united and vigilant in ensuring public safety.
“The president emphasized that the TNI and National Police must work together to guarantee the security and comfort of all Indonesians,” Sjafrie said.
The president also directed law enforcement agencies to act firmly and within the law against criminal activities such as vandalism and looting, particularly those targeting homes, public infrastructure, or government facilities. “If there are threats to lives or property, officers must act decisively against perpetrators,” he added.
To strengthen institutional coordination, the president instructed the State Intelligence Agency to provide rapid updates on ground-level developments and tasked the Ministry of Home Affairs with reinforcing cooperation between central and local governments. “Special focus must be placed on economic needs, which require joint efforts by all government levels,” Sjafrie said.
Additionally, the TNI commander and service branch chiefs were assigned to secure regions and prevent the illegal exploitation of natural resources, while the National Police, in coordination with the Attorney General’s Office, will expedite legal proceedings against violations.
“The president is committed to standing with the people, supported by the TNI, police, and community groups,” Sjafrie affirmed.
Underscoring that national stability is vital for economic recovery, President Prabowo urged unity and cooperation. “Let us preserve unity and strengthen our economic revival through national stability,” he was quoted as saying.
Present at the press briefing were Home Minister Tito Karnavian, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, State Intelligence Chief Muhammad Herindra, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Tonny Harjono.
