President Prabowo Honors Soldiers at 80th Anniversary of Indonesian National Armed Forces

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto expressed his profound gratitude to thousands of soldiers during the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at the National Monument (Monas) Square on Sunday.
The celebration began with an inspection of troops and defense equipment aboard the Indonesia-made tactical vehicle, Maung Garuda. Accompanying the President were Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and ceremony commander Lieutenant General Bambang Trisnohadi, head of the Joint Regional Defense Command III. Following the vehicle were Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Tonny Harjono.
As President Prabowo passed by the large formation of soldiers, their synchronized battle cry echoed across Monas. Using dual microphones installed in the vehicle, the President repeatedly voiced his appreciation for their service, stating, “Thank you for your service. Thank you, everyone,” more than 50 times during the 10-minute inspection.
Following the inspection, President Prabowo moved to a special podium to preside over the commemorative ceremony, which began around 8 a.m. local time. The event brought together 8,600 personnel from all branches of the military, who donned special ceremonial uniforms for the occasion.
To demonstrate Indonesia’s defense capabilities, the Army, Navy, and Air Force deployed a combined total of 1,047 pieces of equipment and vehicles. The parade featured battle simulations and aerial displays, including F-16 and T-50i Golden Eagle fighter jets, highlighting the nation’s robust defense posture.
The anniversary celebration not only honored the dedication and sacrifice of the TNI but also underscored Indonesia’s commitment to safeguarding national security, integrity, and sovereignty.
