President Prabowo Subianto Awarded South Korea’s Highest Honor

Seoul, The Gulf Observer: Prabowo Subianto has been conferred the prestigious Grand Order of Mugunghwa, the highest national award of the Republic of Korea, during a Friendship Event held at the Sangchungjae Garden of the Presidential Palace in Seoul on Wednesday.
According to a statement from Indonesia’s Presidential Secretariat, the award was presented by Lee Jae-myung in recognition of President Prabowo’s significant contributions to strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and South Korea.
The Grand Order of Mugunghwa is reserved for the President of the Republic of Korea, their spouse, and distinguished heads of state or former leaders of friendly nations. It is awarded for exceptional service in advancing the development, security, and international partnerships of South Korea.
President Prabowo was honored for his role in elevating Indonesia–South Korea ties to a Special Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, marking a new chapter in cooperation across political, economic, and security domains.
The decoration includes a set of distinguished insignia comprising a collar, star, sash badge, and lapel badge, all crafted from precious metals and adorned with gemstones.
Since its establishment in 1949, the Grand Order of Mugunghwa has been awarded to over 100 prominent global figures. Notable recipients include Syngman Rhee, King Hussein, Queen Elizabeth II, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emmanuel Macron, and Willem-Alexander.
The conferment of this prestigious honor underscores the deepening friendship and expanding strategic cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea, reflecting a shared commitment to regional stability, economic growth, and mutually beneficial partnerships.
