Moscow, The Gulf Observer: Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Wednesday, expressing gratitude for what he described as the very strong and positive state of relations between Indonesia and Russia.

“My visit was actually meant only for consultation, but now it is simply to express gratitude because the relationship between Russia and Indonesia is now at a very good level for us,” President Prabowo said during the meeting, which was streamed live on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.

President Prabowo also conveyed his appreciation to President Putin for accommodating the meeting despite his busy schedule. “I understand that President Putin’s agenda is very busy, and I thank you for receiving me on such short notice,” he noted.

Welcoming the Indonesian delegation, President Putin said he was pleased to receive President Prabowo in Moscow. He also thanked him for his participation in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025 last June.

President Putin emphasized that relations between Russia and Indonesia have grown consistently throughout the year, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

President Prabowo arrived in Moscow on Wednesday after completing his official visit to Islamabad on December 8–9.

This visit marks President Prabowo’s second meeting with President Putin in Russia this year. His previous visit to St. Petersburg took place from June 18–20, during which he met President Putin and attended SPIEF 2025.
