President Prabowo to Attend G20 and APEC Summits in South America

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto will attend the upcoming G20 and APEC summits in South America this November. Speaking from the Presidential Palace complex on Tuesday, Minister Hadi announced that Indonesia has received official invitations for both summits, with President Prabowo representing the nation as head of state.
The APEC 2024 Summit is set to take place in Peru from November 10-16, followed by the 19th G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on November 18-19. During President Prabowo’s attendance at these global conferences, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka will assume presidential duties in Jakarta, in accordance with Indonesian law. Hadi noted that President Prabowo will issue a formal decree assigning these responsibilities to Vice President Gibran prior to his departure, anticipated by next week.
Foreign Minister Sugiono, addressing the BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia, on October 24, reiterated President Prabowo’s commitment to attending the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Minister Sugiono also confirmed his own attendance at the expanded session of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Fiuggi, Italy.
Minister Sugiono underscored Indonesia’s role as a “bridge builder” between developing nations and the developed world, highlighting the country’s commitment to expanding its presence in international forums. Under President Prabowo’s leadership, Indonesia aims to strengthen its dialogue with both emerging economies through BRICS and with developed countries, advocating collaboration on the global stage.
