President Prabowo Unveils Theme and Logo for Indonesia’s 80th Independence Anniversary

Jakarta, The Gulf Observer: President Prabowo Subianto has officially launched the theme and logo for Indonesia’s 80th Independence Anniversary, scheduled to be celebrated in 2025. The theme, “United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, Advanced Indonesia,” reflects the nation’s enduring commitment to unity, sovereignty, and sustainable progress.
Speaking at the launch ceremony held at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, President Prabowo stated that the selected theme encapsulates Indonesia’s overarching vision and national aspirations.
“This theme was chosen because it aligns with the nation’s grand vision and represents the direction of our national struggle. We aim to remain a united country — Bhinneka Tunggal Ika — many, yet one,” he remarked.
He emphasized that unity in diversity remains the bedrock of Indonesia’s identity and a vital force in preserving the nation’s sovereignty and well-being.
“Preserving sovereignty is not enough if our people are not prosperous. We do not want to be a poor country, nor do we want any of our fellow citizens to go hungry. Therefore, our struggle is not only about sovereignty; it must ensure the prosperity of all Indonesians,” he added.
Prabowo expressed hope that the theme would transcend mere rhetoric and serve as a guiding principle for national action and collective achievement. He called on all citizens to participate actively in the upcoming independence celebrations with joy and solidarity.
“Fly the red and white flag at home, in schools, in offices, and public spaces — wherever you are. Red represents the blood spilled for our independence; white symbolizes the purity of our soul,” he urged.
Alongside the theme, the President also launched the official logo for the 80th anniversary. Created by young Indonesian designers selected by Prabowo, the minimalist logo features two interlocking cylindrical forms that represent the numbers 8 and 0. These shapes form an unbroken loop — a stylized infinity symbol — signifying the eternal bond between unity and sovereignty.
The bold red outline symbolizes the embodiment of a prosperous people, while the seamless connection between the two digits conveys ongoing efforts toward achieving national aspirations.
“This design embodies the essence of Advanced Indonesia — a vision we are striving to realize by 2045, as we mark a century of independence,” Prabowo noted.
Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day in 2025 is expected to be marked with nationwide celebrations, cultural events, and initiatives that reflect the nation’s collective ambition to build a united, sovereign, and advanced future.
