President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Chairs Working Meeting on Agricultural Development and Digital Systems in Turkmenistan
Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: President Serdar Berdimuhamedov convened a productive working meeting focusing on the digital system, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev, overseeing the agro-industrial complex, and velayat hyakims. The session, held to address agricultural industry advancements and oversee seasonal field operations, was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, velayat hyakims presented updates on the agricultural landscape, particularly highlighting ongoing cotton sowing activities across regions. They emphasized the implementation of measures to ensure timely sowing and the efficient utilization of agricultural machinery. Additionally, they reported on inter-row cultivation and crop care in adherence to agrotechnical standards.
Furthermore, in alignment with President Berdimuhamedov’s directives to boost potato and vegetable production for domestic consumption, regions are actively engaged in planting and nurturing seedlings of these crops. Notably, efforts in Balkan and Dashoguz velayats are directed towards securing contracts with cocoon producers, while Ahal, Lebap, and Mary velayats prioritize silkworm care.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov underscored the significance of horse breeding, emphasizing the preservation of the renowned Akhal-Teke horses’ purity. Preparations for the upcoming celebrations commemorating the National Turkmen Horse Day, observed annually on the last Sunday of April, are underway.
Concluding the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov charged the Deputy Prime Minister with ensuring strict oversight of cotton sowing and wheat crop care within specified agrotechnical timelines. He reiterated the paramount importance of adhering to seasonal agricultural tasks, emphasizing the need for vigilant monitoring of spring crop sowing and care.
The President further stressed the importance of promoting the esteemed Ahal-Teke horses and instructed for the meticulous organization of festivities commemorating the National Turkmen Horse Day.
