Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the State Museum of Timurids History following its comprehensive reconstruction, carried out in connection with the 690th anniversary of the birth of the great commander and statesman Amir Temur.

Amir Temur, revered as Sahibkiran, is credited with uniting Mawarannahr into a centralized state and establishing a powerful empire with its राजधानी in Samarkand. Through his renowned “Code of Temur,” he laid down principles of governance that contributed significantly to the advancement of science, culture, and statecraft, paving the way for what is widely regarded as the Timurid Renaissance. The architectural and cultural heritage from his era continues to serve as a source of national pride and historical identity.

In recognition of his enduring legacy, President Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on February 5 declaring April as the “Month of Amir Temur.” The initiative includes a wide range of events such as academic conferences, roundtables, and cultural discussions involving scholars, writers, and historians across educational institutions, research centers, and local communities.

As part of these commemorations, the State Museum of Timurids History has undergone a major transformation, adopting international best practices in museum curation and incorporating advanced technologies. The upgraded facility features enhanced digital exhibits, artifacts sourced from international collections, and immersive displays.

A newly established section titled “The Great Sahibkiran – Founder of the Second Renaissance” has been introduced on the museum’s first floor. Meanwhile, the second floor hosts interactive exhibitions utilizing artificial intelligence and smart technologies to showcase the Timurid era, including 3D installations and detailed geographical maps.

During his tour, President Mirziyoyev underscored the importance of preserving and promoting the nation’s historical heritage. He emphasized that Uzbekistan’s rich legacy holds valuable lessons for the country’s ongoing reforms and development under the vision of “New Uzbekistan.”

“We possess a history and heritage that commands global respect. It is encouraging to see the museum renewed in a way that reflects the spirit of our times. Our key responsibility is to share this legacy with our people, especially the youth, and international visitors,” the President stated.

He further highlighted the need to encourage broader public engagement with museums at the community level, advocating for initiatives that involve youth, elders, and citizens in exploring the country’s historical and cultural wealth.

At the conclusion of his visit, President Mirziyoyev made a commemorative entry in the museum’s guest book, marking the significance of the occasion.
