Uzbekistan President Holds Telephone Conversation with Russian Federation Council Speaker

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On April 7, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matvienko.

During the call, President Mirziyoyev warmly congratulated Valentina Matvienko on her birthday, extending sincere wishes for good health, happiness, well-being, and continued success in her responsibilities.

The conversation highlighted the active and constructive role played by the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Russia in strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the ongoing inter-parliamentary engagement, which has contributed significantly to deepening bilateral cooperation.

It was noted that meetings of the bilateral Commission on Cooperation between the upper chambers of the two parliaments are held regularly, fostering closer institutional ties. The sides also acknowledged effective collaboration within the framework of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

Concluding the conversation, President Mirziyoyev reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s commitment to further advancing close and productive cooperation between the legislative bodies of both nations, emphasizing the importance of sustained dialogue and partnership.
