Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico held extended negotiations on Wednesday at the Akorda Presidential Palace, according to media reports. The talks were aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on economic partnership.

During the meeting, President Tokayev expressed his optimism regarding the future of Kazakhstan-Slovakia relations, stating, “Both countries will be able to achieve serious results, since the cooperation will continue.”

Emphasizing the significance of the partnership, President Tokayev described Slovakia as “an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union,” noting that “Slovakia is one of the most active and dynamically developing states of the European Union.”

The Kazakh leader also acknowledged Slovakia’s proactive stance on regional and international issues, which, he said, reflects its strong commitment to constructive global cooperation.

“I value the growth of political dialogue, economic cooperation and humanitarian exchange, as well as productive interaction in the multilateral aspect,” President Tokayev added.

The official talks followed a closed-door meeting held earlier between President Tokayev and Prime Minister Fico, where both sides exchanged views on priority areas of mutual interest.

The visit by the Slovak Prime Minister is expected to give new impetus to the development of multifaceted relations between the two countries, further enhancing cooperation in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres.
