President Tokayev Expresses Condolences to Switzerland After Deadly Crans-Montana Fire

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has extended his deepest condolences to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, following a tragic fire at the Crans-Montana ski resort that resulted in numerous casualties, the Akorda press service said.
In his message, President Tokayev expressed solidarity with the people of Switzerland during this moment of profound grief and conveyed words of support to the families of the victims, as well as wishes for a swift recovery to those injured in the incident.
According to earlier reports, an explosion at the Swiss ski resort was followed by a fire, leaving dozens of people dead and around 100 others injured. Many of the injured sustained serious wounds and were transferred to hospitals in Sion, the capital of Valais canton, as well as to medical facilities in other cities.
Valais Canton Police Chief Frederic Giesler, speaking at a press conference, said emergency services responded swiftly to the incident and that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the explosion and the subsequent fire.
