President Tokayev Hails Abai’s Enduring Legacy on 180th Birth Anniversary

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended his greetings to participants of the celebration marking the 180th birth anniversary of the renowned Kazakh poet and thinker Abai Qunanbaiuly, Akorda reported.
In his message, President Tokayev described Abai as “a world-class personality, a great poet who made an invaluable contribution to the development of culture and the renewal of our people’s national consciousness. As the founder of modern Kazakh literature, he broadened our worldview.”
The Head of State highlighted that Abai urged young people to be educated, diligent, and responsible citizens, and that his ideas continue to shape the nation’s values. “His life path is an example of love for the homeland and selfless service to society,” Tokayev said.
President Tokayev emphasized that Abai’s rich legacy serves as a spiritual guide not only for the Kazakh people, but for all humanity. “His thoughts and commandments will never lose their relevance. That’s why it is very important to explore and popularize Abai’s works, understanding the profound meaning of his writings.”
The President noted that today’s commemorative event, held on the sacred land that also gave the world such prominent figures as Shakarim Kudaibergen and Mukhtar Auezov, reflects the state’s commitment to developing the region as a center of national culture.
