President Tokayev Meets Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Monday held a meeting with Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Akorda Press Service reported. The discussion focused on key areas of the multifaceted bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, in the context of President Tokayev’s forthcoming state visit to Moscow.

President Tokayev emphasized the significance of the upcoming visit, expressing confidence that the talks in Moscow would be productive and contribute to further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two neighboring countries.

The Head of State noted the active and well-coordinated collaboration between the governments of Kazakhstan and Russia, stressing that Russia remains one of Kazakhstan’s leading trade and economic partners.

Recalling his recent agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Tokayev reaffirmed the mutual goal of increasing bilateral trade to $30 billion in the near future.

He also pointed out that the Russian Federation ranks among the top investors in Kazakhstan’s economy, with Russian investments amounting to $4 billion last year alone. The President commended the effective performance of major Russian companies operating in Kazakhstan, underscoring that their success reflects the high level of mutual trust between the two nations.

For his part, Denis Manturov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and reiterated Russia’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and cultural domains. He noted that a solid foundation for joint projects has already been established, and voiced confidence in their successful implementation.

In recognition of his significant contribution to socio-economic and cultural development, as well as his efforts to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Russia, President Tokayev awarded Denis Manturov the Order of Dostyk (Friendship), 1st Degree.
