President Tokayev, U.S. Officials Discuss Strengthening Kazakh-American Partnership

Astana, The Gulf Observer: President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor and Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau at the Akorda Residence, according to media reports. The meeting focused on strengthening the Kazakh-American expanded partnership ahead of the upcoming C5+1 Summit in Washington, D.C.
President Tokayev expressed his gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for the invitation to participate in the high-level C5+1 Summit, noting that the event would serve as an important platform for defining key priorities and long-term directions of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States.
The Head of State voiced confidence that the forthcoming summit would yield productive results and provide new impetus to bilateral trade, economic, and investment relations.
President Tokayev affirmed Kazakhstan’s support for both the foreign and domestic policies pursued by the U.S. President, commending his significant contribution to strengthening international peace and security.
He also underscored the increasing importance of Central Asia in global affairs, noting that the countries of the region are demonstrating unprecedented unity, a spirit of good-neighborliness, and a shared commitment to collective progress and stability.
The meeting reaffirmed the mutual interest of both nations in expanding comprehensive cooperation and maintaining close coordination on regional and international issues of common concern.
