President Trump Signs Order Granting U.S. Security Guarantees to Qatar

Washington, The Gulf Observer: U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an order granting formal security guarantees to the State of Qatar, according to media reports on Wednesday.
The order stipulates that any armed attack against Qatar will be regarded as a direct threat to the security of the United States, committing Washington to defend Qatar’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“In light of the threats posed by foreign aggression against the State of Qatar, it is the policy of the United States to guarantee the security and territorial integrity of the State of Qatar and to protect it against foreign attacks. In the event of an attack on Qatar, the United States will take all lawful measures, including diplomatic, economic and, if necessary, military measures, and to protect American interests,” the document signed by President Trump states.
The move significantly elevates the strategic partnership between Washington and Doha, signaling a new phase in U.S. security commitments in the Gulf region.
