President Zardari Extends Eid-ul-Fitr Greetings, Urges Nation to Uphold Spirit of Ramazan
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended heartfelt felicitations to the entire Pakistani nation on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, urging citizens to carry forward the spirit of patience, piety, and compassion fostered during the holy month of Ramazan.
In his message on Eid-ul-Fitr (1st Shawwal 1447 Hijri), the President described the festival as a reward for the devotion, sacrifice, and perseverance demonstrated during Ramazan. He emphasized that Eid symbolizes a renewed spiritual beginning, enriched by Allah Almighty’s mercy, forgiveness, and a deep sense of servitude.
Quoting from the Holy Quran, the President highlighted that fasting has been prescribed to attain righteousness. He underlined that the core message of Eid revolves around piety, self-accountability, and moral purity. Referring to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he noted that those who fast with faith and sincerity are promised forgiveness of their sins.
President Zardari stressed that true success lies in translating the lessons of Ramazan into everyday life, including values such as patience, tolerance, compassion, justice, and brotherhood. He remarked that these principles are essential for building both a strong individual character and a united, resilient nation.
He further noted that Eid-ul-Fitr is an occasion to promote mutual love, social harmony, and solidarity, encouraging people to share their happiness with the less fortunate, including orphans and underprivileged members of society.
The President also called for renewed commitment to national unity, constitutional supremacy, and the rule of law, stating that Pakistan’s development, stability, and prosperity are collective responsibilities.
Concluding his message, President Zardari prayed for unity within the Muslim Ummah and lasting peace in the region and across the world. He also expressed hope that Allah Almighty would accept the nation’s prayers and bless Pakistan with peace, security, and stability, enabling it to move forward with unity and consensus.
