President Zelenskyy and President Aliyev Hold Telephone Conversation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation on July 1 with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, during which key bilateral issues and recent developments were discussed.
During the call, President Zelenskyy extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the Ukrainian people regarding the recent killing of Azerbaijani nationals in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg. President Aliyev expressed sincere gratitude for the solidarity and support conveyed by the Ukrainian side during this difficult time.
President Zelenskyy also conveyed his appreciation for Azerbaijan’s assistance in facilitating the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Iran, emphasizing the importance of such humanitarian cooperation in times of crisis.
The two leaders exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. In this regard, they agreed to convene a session of the Intergovernmental Commission in Baku in the near future to further strengthen cooperation across various sectors.
Both presidents reaffirmed their unwavering support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each other’s countries. President Zelenskyy also expressed special thanks for the humanitarian aid extended by Azerbaijan to Ukraine, underscoring the spirit of friendship and solidarity that continues to define the relationship between the two nations.
