Astana

Astana, The Gulf Observer: On October 21, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the “Alem.ai” International Artificial Intelligence Center in Astana.

During the visit, President Ilham Aliyev was briefed on the activities and objectives of the Center, which was established earlier this year to foster innovation and advance artificial intelligence (AI) technologies across all sectors of Kazakhstan’s public and economic life.

The “Alem.ai” Center serves as a hub for innovation, research, and collaboration in AI. Its Public Space initiative aims to attract 10,000 talented individuals annually by hosting forums on AI advancements, expert meetings, open lectures, job fairs, hackathons, and startup competitions dedicated to artificial intelligence.

The Center also includes the Tomorrow School, which offers free AI education without requiring prior programming experience, and an AI campus designed to accelerate the growth of technology startups. By promoting cutting-edge technologies and building a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Center seeks to launch 100 new AI startups each year.

In addition, the Center houses specialized research laboratories dedicated to developing and supporting scientific research in artificial intelligence, encouraging innovation, and creating advanced technological solutions. Ten scientific research projects are planned to be implemented annually within these laboratories, contributing to Kazakhstan’s goal of becoming a regional leader in AI-driven innovation.
