Astana, The Gulf Observer: Following high-level talks in Astana, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian issued a Joint Statement, the Akorda press service reported. The leaders emphasized strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
In the presence of both Presidents, several intergovernmental agreements and memoranda were signed, covering legal, transport, cultural, healthcare, and media collaboration. Key documents include:
- Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between Kazakhstan and Iran.
- Protocol Amending the Agreement on International Road Transport of Passengers and Goods between the two countries.
- Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Iran.
- Cultural Exchange Program (2026–2028) between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information and Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.
- Memorandum of Understanding on Intellectual Property Cooperation between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Justice and Iran’s State Organization for Registration of Deeds and Properties.
- Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Cooperation in Transport, Transit, and Logistics between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport and Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
- Memorandum of Understanding on Healthcare Cooperation between the Ministries of Healthcare of both nations.
