Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Hold Telephone Conversation to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: On December 6, during a telephone conversation, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, warmly congratulated the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov, on the occasion of his birthday.

President Mirziyoyev expressed his sincere wishes for President Zhaparov’s good health, family happiness, and continued success in leading the Kyrgyz Republic’s large-scale reforms. He emphasized the importance of these reforms in ensuring the sustainable socio-economic development of the country and enhancing the well-being and prosperity of the fraternal Kyrgyz people.

During their conversation, the two leaders discussed key issues related to the strengthening of friendship, good neighborliness, and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Special attention was given to the practical implementation of agreements reached at the highest levels.

The Presidents noted with satisfaction the growing dynamics in the development of bilateral trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation. Trade turnover between the two countries has surpassed $700 million since the beginning of the year. The joint investment fund continues to function successfully, supporting cooperative projects in mechanical engineering, energy, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture, and other sectors. Furthermore, interregional ties, business contacts, and cultural exchanges have intensified.

The importance of accelerating large regional infrastructure projects, particularly in the energy and transport sectors, was underscored.

In addition, Presidents Mirziyoyev and Zhaparov exchanged views on regional cooperation in Central Asia and discussed the schedule for upcoming joint events, reinforcing the shared commitment to further enhancing bilateral relations.
