Muar, The Gulf Observer: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim attended the National Month Launching Ceremony and Jalur Gemilang Campaign in Muar, accompanied by Malaysians from all walks of life in a spirit of harmony and unity.
In his keynote speech, Prime Minister Anwar emphasized that independence must not only be viewed from a historical or worldly lens, but also through spiritual and moral dimensions. He urged the public to internalize and live the true spirit of Merdeka, which he described as a sacred trust that must be continuously upheld and nurtured in the soul of the nation.
“Independence is not merely a chapter in our history. It is a responsibility passed down to us—an amanah—that must flourish in our values and actions,” he stated.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the need for leadership driven by insight, economic progress, and the enduring spirit of struggle, ensuring that the benefits of development are shared equally among all citizens.
He remarked that the strength of Malaysia’s independence was rooted in togetherness and unity, despite differences in opinion. True patriotism, he stressed, involves protecting the people, showing love, and standing in their defense.
“As we raise the Jalur Gemilang, let us uplift the dignity of our nation with unwavering determination and continuous unity,” Prime Minister Anwar concluded, calling on all Malaysians to move forward with renewed purpose and collective strength.
