Prime Minister Chính Hosts Banquet for Diplomatic Corps Ahead of Tết Holiday

Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính, along with his spouse, hosted a banquet in Hanoi on Monday, welcoming members of the diplomatic corps in celebration of the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tết). During the event, PM Chính shared warm wishes and reflected on the achievements of the past year while highlighting the nation’s resilience and aspirations for the future.
Looking ahead to 2024, PM Chính described the year as one of Vietnam’s resilience, noting that the country had not only achieved an impressive growth rate of over 7% but also solidified its standing as a safe investment destination and a popular tourism hub. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the nation continued to build its reputation on the global stage as both secure and stable.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the crucial role played by international partners in Vietnam’s successes, expressing heartfelt gratitude to diplomats, ambassadors, and international organizations for their unwavering support. He emphasized that Vietnam’s achievements were made possible by the collaboration of global friends and partners.
Entering the new year, PM Chính spoke with determination about Vietnam’s ambition to reach a growth rate of around 8% in 2025, with potential for even higher success under favorable conditions. He reiterated Vietnam’s commitment to its foreign policy, which prioritizes independence, self-reliance, diversification, and multilateralism, ensuring that Vietnam remains a trustworthy and responsible member of the international community.
Looking toward the future, PM Chính promised continued support to ambassadors and international organizations, assuring them that Vietnam would remain a welcoming environment, a second home where shared prosperity and joy could be built together.
Palestinian Ambassador to Vietnam, Saadi Salama, offered his congratulations on Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements, commending the country’s rising international prominence. He called for global unity and compassion, urging nations to safeguard justice, fairness, and dignity, while promoting dialogue and international law as key solutions to global challenges. Ambassador Salama wished the people of Vietnam a joyful Tết, with hopes for continued friendship, peace, and progress among nations in the year ahead.
