Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Reaffirms Pakistan’s Strong Ties with Saudi Arabia
Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed that Pakistan’s strong relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia remains a cornerstone of the country’s foreign policy, underscoring the vital importance of this partnership for both nations.
During a meeting with a delegation from the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by Chairman Dr. Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al Sheikh, the Prime Minister expressed Pakistan’s deep appreciation for the unwavering support extended by Saudi Arabia during challenging times.
The Prime Minister conveyed his best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, highlighting the frequent exchanges between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He noted that his multiple visits to the Kingdom earlier this year reflected the close and enduring ties between the two countries.
Prime Minister Sharif also congratulated Saudi Arabia on being selected to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, expressing confidence that the Kingdom would organize the event in the most exceptional manner.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of parliamentary exchanges between the two nations, recognizing them as crucial for strengthening bilateral relations. He also outlined efforts to bolster economic ties, pointing to the signing of agreements worth $2.8 billion, with work already underway to implement these projects. He expressed hope that the benefits of these agreements would soon materialize, furthering the mutual prosperity of both countries.
Noting the significant role of the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, which numbers around 2.5 million, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted their role as a vital bridge between the two nations.
The Prime Minister also praised Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman for hosting the Arab-Islamic Summit, which reinforced the call for peace and solidarity in Gaza, Lebanon, and the wider region. Prime Minister Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s full support for efforts aimed at alleviating the suffering and addressing the human rights violations faced by the people of Gaza and Lebanon.
The meeting underscored the enduring strength of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations and their shared commitment to peace, prosperity, and regional stability.
