Qatar Amir holds official talks with German Chancellor
Berlin, The Gulf Observer: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany HE Olaf Scholz held an official talk session at the Chancellery headquarters in the capital Berlin on Thursday afternoon.
During the session, bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and prospects for developing and advancing them in the fields of economy, investment and energy were discussed, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest at the regional and international levels, especially with regard to developments in the Palestinian territories and the repercussions of the humanitarian situation there, where HH the Amir also stressed the importance of making efforts to reduce escalation, spare civilians from the consequences of the fighting, open safe corridors in Gaza for relief and humanitarian efforts, and ensure that violence does not expand regionally, in addition to Qatar’s firm position on condemning the targeting of civilians.
The talks session was attended by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Minister of State for Energy Affairs HE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al-Thani, and Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.
On the German side, the talks session was attended by Federal government spokesman HE Stephen Hebstreet, State Secretary for Economic, Finance and European Affairs at the Federal Chancellery HE Dr. Jorg Kukies, HE Foreign Policy and Security Advisor to the Chancellor HE Jens Plotner, HE Economic, Fiscal and Climate Policy Advisor to the Chancellor Steffen Meyer, Ministerial Advisor and Deputy Director of the Chancellor’s Office Dr. Chia Lehnardt, and Head of the Department of Bilateral Relations with Countries in the Near and Middle East, the Maghreb, Asia, the Pacific and Latin America, Dr. Daniel Kreber.
Prior to the talks, HH the Amir and the German Chancellor held a bilateral meeting, in which they discussed cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them.
The German Chancellor held a luncheon banquet in honor of HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation.
