Qatar and Somalia Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Doha, The Gulf Observer: Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, held a meeting yesterday with State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H E Ali Mohamed Omar, who is currently visiting Qatar.
The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Qatar and Somalia, with particular attention to supporting development projects in Somalia. Discussions also covered the outcomes of the Somali Diaspora Conference held in Doha, which aimed at leveraging the capabilities of Somalis in the diaspora for the prosperity and revival of Somalia.
Additionally, Minister Al Khater engaged in a videoconference with the Director-General of European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations. This meeting addressed the relations between Qatar and the European Union, exploring ways to further support and strengthen these ties. Key topics included developments in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, as well as humanitarian and development cooperation in the Gaza Strip, Sudan, and Afghanistan. Several regional and international issues of mutual interest were also discussed. The meeting was attended by H E Dr. Cristian Tudor, European Union Ambassador to Qatar.
