Qatar and Türkiye Deepen Strategic Partnership in 10th Supreme Strategic Committee Session
Doha, The Gulf Observer: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the President of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdogan, co-chaired the 10th session of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee held at the Presidential Complex in Ankara today. The high-level meeting underscored the deep-rooted partnership between Qatar and Türkiye, with a focus on expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
In his opening remarks, President Erdogan warmly welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation, recognizing His Highness’s dedication to fortifying the strategic ties between Qatar and Türkiye. He praised Qatar’s consistent diplomatic and humanitarian contributions on the regional and global stages, which he acknowledged as a significant force for peace and stability.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm hospitality, HH the Amir commended the enduring partnership between Qatar and Türkiye. He emphasized that the Supreme Strategic Committee has played a central role in consolidating this bond, enabling both nations to pursue cooperative ventures aligned with their mutual aspirations for development and prosperity. HH the Amir reiterated Qatar’s commitment to broadening the spectrum of collaboration with Türkiye, envisioning further advancements in economic, trade, energy, industry, and investment sectors.
The discussions covered a range of topics central to the bilateral partnership, including economic, trade, and investment opportunities, as well as cooperation in energy, industry, and other vital areas. Both leaders also shared insights on pressing regional issues, particularly the situations in Gaza, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Lebanon, reflecting their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
Attending the session on the Qatari side were key officials including HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; HE Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan; HE Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance; HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry; HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani, Minister of Transport; and HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with other senior delegates. Türkiye was represented by prominent ministers, including HE Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs; HE Yasar Guler, Minister of National Defence; HE Omer Bolat, Minister of Trade; HE Mehmet Fatih Kacir, Minister of Industry and Technology; HE Abdulkadir Uraloglu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure; HE Mehmet Simsek, Minister of Treasury and Finance; and HE Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, alongside several senior officials.
Following the session, HH the Amir and President Erdogan held a private bilateral meeting, further discussing shared interests and strategic priorities. In honor of HH the Amir and the Qatari delegation, President Erdogan hosted a formal dinner banquet, celebrating the enduring friendship between Qatar and Türkiye.
HH the Amir was received with an official welcoming ceremony upon his arrival at the Presidential Complex, which included a 21-gun salute as a mark of respect and esteem for the Qatari leader.
