Qatar, Kuwait Discussed Gaza Crises in Geneva
Geneva, The Gulf Observer: Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation, Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, held a significant meeting today with the Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Abdullah Al-Yahya. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the High-Level Segment of the 55th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The discussions between the two ministers centered around the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. Key topics included regional and international efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the severe humanitarian consequences of the deteriorating situation, strategies to enhance cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait to ensure the continuous entry of relief aid into Gaza, and the imperative to resume support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
Addressing the pressing humanitarian conditions in the Republic of Sudan, both ministers emphasized the urgency of intensifying relief efforts and unifying endeavors to defuse the ongoing conflict and resolve the Sudanese crisis through peaceful and diplomatic means.
During the meeting, Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater expressed the State of Qatar’s gratitude to the State of Kuwait for its consistent efforts and commendable endeavors to enhance stability in the region. She acknowledged Kuwait’s significant role in maintaining regional and international peace and security, highlighting Kuwait’s distinguished position as a leading country in the region for its relief and humanitarian efforts.
The discussions underscored the shared commitment of Qatar and Kuwait to address pressing regional challenges and collaborate on diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting peace, stability, and humanitarian assistance.
