Qatar Scientific Club Engages Public with Interactive Exhibits at Inaugural SkillFest Festival

Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Qatar Scientific Club (QSC) is actively participating in the inaugural edition of the “SkillFest” festival, which is being hosted across four prominent locations: Msheireb Galleria, Place Vendome, Mall of Qatar, and West Walk. The festival, running through August 15, is designed to celebrate Qatar’s heritage and marine environment while offering a diverse range of artistic and cultural experiences.
At the West Walk venue, the Qatar Scientific Club is presenting a variety of scientific experiments and workshops tailored for different age groups. Eng. Abdulrahman Saleh Khamis, Deputy Executive Director of the Scientific Club, highlighted the club’s engagement in the festival, stating, “The Scientific Club provides a range of scientific experiments every Thursday and Friday. Additionally, we offer a workshop focused on car mechanics to detect simple faults, as well as a permanent exhibition featuring daily interactive programs and shows.”
The Planetarium, a key feature of the club’s Promising Innovator Programs, is also participating in SkillFest. Eng. Abdulrahman noted that the Planetarium will be an integral part of the festival’s activities in the coming weeks. Students involved in the summer program will have the opportunity to explore the virtual world within the Planetarium dome and gain insights into programming and game development. “The Planetarium shows at our club are consistently updated to reflect the latest advancements in the field,” he added.
In addition to these activities, the Scientific Club is focusing on current trends in technology and artificial intelligence, aiming to enhance students’ skills and understanding in these rapidly evolving areas.
SkillFest provides visitors with an array of artistic workshops, interactive community sessions, and cultural experiences, celebrating Qatar’s rich heritage and marine environment. The festival offers a platform for engagement and learning, underscoring the Scientific Club’s commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and technological advancement within the community.
