Qatar, South Korea to boost cooperation in aviation training

Seoul, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti attended the signing ceremony of a Collaboration Protocol between the Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA) and Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC), on the sidelines of his participation in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)’s Second Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS), which opened in Seoul, South Korea, yesterday.
The Protocol was signed by QAA’s Director General H E Sheikh Jabor bin Hamad Al Thani and Executive Director & Principal of the Incheon Airport Aviation Academy (IAAA) H E Mina Choi.
The Protocol aims at promoting the relations existing between QAA and IIAC and facilitating the development and delivery of training programmes in the field of aviation, exchange of students and instructors, cooperation activities, and hosting each party’s ICAO courses.
The Minister of Transport also met with Minister of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport of the Republic Korea H E Won Hee-ryong, on the sidelines of the ICAO event.
The two ministers discussed aspects of cooperation in the fields of transportation and ways to enhance them particularly regarding taking advantage of deploying advanced and smart transportation technologies. Qatar’s Ambassador to the Republic of Korea H E Khalid bin Ebrahim Al Hamar also attended the meeting.
