Qatar, Bangladesh discuss joint cooperation

Dhaka, The Gulf Observer: The Minister of Labour, Dr. Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, met separately with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, and the country’s Minister of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, Imran Ahmad.

The meetings reviewed aspects of joint cooperation on issues related to labour and ways of promoting and strengthening it.

On the other hand, the joint Qatar-Bangladesh committee for labour affairs held a meeting in Dhaka on Sunday under the chairmanship of Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs in the Ministry of Labour Mohammed Hassan Al Obaildi and the Minister of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment of Bangladesh Imran Ahmad.

The meeting of the joint committee was convened in accordance with the agreement signed between the two countries on manpower, with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation and exchange of experience between the two countries on labour issues.

The two sides discussed many issues related to the labour sector and the expectations of the labour market in both countries, and also reviewed the agenda and workflow procedures between the two sides. The two sides stressed the importance of educating workers about the laws, procedures, rights, and duties that regulate the labour market.
