Qatar’s Emir, US President Trump Discuss Regional Escalation Amid Iranian Attacks

Doha, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, held a telephone conversation today with President of the United States Donald Trump to discuss the latest developments in the region following continued Iranian attacks on Qatar and neighboring countries.

According to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the two leaders reviewed the evolving situation in light of what Qatar described as ongoing and unjustified Iranian attacks, as well as international efforts aimed at containing the current escalation.

During the call, Sheikh Tamim warned that the rising tensions could have serious repercussions for international peace and security. He emphasized the urgent need to contain the crisis and intensify diplomatic efforts to bring the escalation to an end.

The Emir also reaffirmed that the State of Qatar would not hesitate to defend its sovereignty, security, and national interests in accordance with the United Nations Charter and the principles of international law.

Both leaders agreed on the importance of close cooperation to safeguard regional and global stability. They also underscored the need to support political and diplomatic pathways to address current tensions and prevent further escalation in the region.
