Quality of Education in Iran Depends on Commitment of Teachers, Not Sanctions: President Pezeshkian

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized that the improvement of education quality in Iran is not dependent on foreign sanctions or external restrictions but on the dedication, knowledge, and motivation of teachers and school administrators.

Speaking on Sunday at the inauguration of the “Education Equity Movement with Public Participation” projects in the city of Shahriar, located in central-northern Iran, President Pezeshkian said there is no justification for Iranian schools to fall behind their international counterparts in terms of quality and standards.

He underlined the importance of maintaining high educational standards, stating that classrooms in Iran should not operate with inferior facilities, outdated teaching methods, or lower learning outcomes compared to schools elsewhere in the world.

“The starting point of any transformation is a change in the mindset of managers, teachers, and experts,” Pezeshkian said, highlighting the crucial role of educators in driving reform. He added that genuine progress in education can only be achieved when teachers are committed to ensuring that “no student leaves the classroom without deep learning and adequate skills.”

The president’s remarks reflect his administration’s focus on educational equity, innovation, and human development as key pillars of national advancement, aligning with broader government initiatives to strengthen social participation and public engagement in improving education across the country.
