Reef Saudi Supports Lomi Hasawi Exhibition Showcasing Al-Ahsa’s Lime Cultivation

Al-Ahsa, The Gulf Observer: The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program, known as Reef Saudi, is extending its support to Lomi Hasawi, an exhibition dedicated to celebrating the lime fruit native to the Al-Ahsa region, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Reef Saudi is participating as a gold sponsor of the event, organized by the Al-Ahsa Chamber, which will run until September 6. The lime, commonly referred to as Lomi Hasawi, is a distinctive variety widely grown across the Eastern Province, particularly in the Al-Ahsa Oasis.

Reef Saudi spokesman Majed Al-Buraikan said the program had allocated SR342,000 to strengthen the lime sector in the province, directly benefiting 89 farmers. This support has helped increase production to more than 122,400 tons.

“The program assists producers with the tools and capabilities needed to raise production and efficiency,” Al-Buraikan stated.

The fruit sector remains a key pillar of Reef Saudi’s initiatives, which aim to diversify agricultural production, boost self-sufficiency, and enhance sustainability in alignment with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives.
