Renowned Kazakh Actor Kairat Kemalov Passes Away at 69

Kazakhstan, The Gulf Observer: Distinguished Kazakh actor Kairat Kemalov has passed away at the age of 69, according to media reports. The news was confirmed by Yermaganbet Bulekpayev, Governor of the Karaganda Region, through a statement shared on his official Instagram account.
“He devoted his life to the stage and Kazakh art. Kairat Kemalov’s career began in Karaganda, but his achievements and recognition reached far beyond the region. He created powerful characters, for which he received numerous prestigious awards and international acclaim. His mastery, professional integrity, and love for people have left an indelible mark in the history of Kazakhstani theatre and cinema,” Governor Bulekpayev wrote.
Born on January 8, 1957, in Atasu village, Zhanaarka district of the former Zhezkazgan region (now part of the Ulytau region), Kairat Kemalov was widely respected for his artistic contributions and mentorship. He was beloved by the public for his portrayal of Kerey Khan in the historical epic “Kazakh Khanate”, a role that earned him nationwide admiration.
Kemalov’s dedication to the performing arts spanned decades, during which he cultivated a legacy that resonated not only with audiences but also with generations of artists and students who followed in his footsteps.
