Romania and Pakistan to Strengthen Cooperation in the IT Sector

Pakistan

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Dan Stoenescu, held a meeting with Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, H.E. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of information technology.

Both sides noted the complementary strengths of Romania and Pakistan in the IT sector and expressed optimism about creating new opportunities for joint ventures, co-investments, and knowledge exchange between the two countries’ dynamic industries.

Ambassador Stoenescu highlighted Romania’s position as one of Europe’s most vibrant IT hubs, known for its highly skilled engineers, competitive costs, and strong presence of global technology firms in areas such as cybersecurity, fintech, artificial intelligence, and software development. He emphasized that this expertise could be shared with Pakistan’s rapidly growing IT ecosystem, which has been making remarkable strides in innovation and digital services.

As part of these efforts, Romania and Pakistan are preparing to host the Romania–Pakistan Forum for the IT Industry in November. The forum will bring together policymakers, business leaders, and innovators from both nations to explore potential collaborations, establish partnerships, and shape a shared digital future.

The meeting reaffirmed that enhanced cooperation in IT, technology, trade, and human capital can serve as a gateway to wider opportunities, connecting the industries of Romania and Pakistan with broader European and South Asian markets.
