Romania to Send High-Level Delegation to 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos

Davos, The Gulf Observer: Romania will be represented at the 56th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, from January 19 to 23, 2026. The Romanian delegation includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana Toiu, Minister of Investments and European Projects Drago Burn Pîslaru, Minister of Energy Bogdan Ivan, and Presidential Adviser Radu Burnete.
The ministers will attend the Forum at the invitation of the WEF President, participating in discussions alongside world leaders, including presidents, prime ministers, ministers, as well as representatives of major international organizations, academic institutions, the media, and non-governmental organizations.
The central theme of this year’s Forum is “A Spirit of Dialogue”, emphasizing the importance of dialogue amid growing political and ideological fragmentation. The agenda will focus on five major global challenges: enhancing cooperation in a disputed world, unlocking new sources of growth, investing in human capital, promoting responsible innovation, and increasing global prosperity.
The WEF 2026 aims to serve as an impartial platform for dialogue while providing a forum for international discussions on emerging developments, including the dynamics of transatlantic relations.
Foreign Minister Oana Toiu returns to Davos after her participation in 2019 as an invited expert speaker. Romania’s delegation this year is the most comprehensive in the country’s WEF history, reflecting a unified commitment by both the government and the Presidential Administration to strengthening economic diplomacy.
