Ambassador Meets Renowned Mountaineer Horia Colibășanu in Islamabad Following Historic Nanga Parbat Ascent

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Upon returning from a daring expedition, His Excellency Dan Stoenescu, the Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, met with acclaimed Romanian mountaineer Horia Colibășanu in Islamabad. Colibășanu had just completed a remarkable ascent of the legendary Nanga Parbat, located in the western Himalayas, reaching an altitude of 8,125 meters — without the use of supplemental oxygen.

The meeting was filled with emotion and admiration as Ambassador Stoenescu congratulated the mountaineer on his extraordinary achievement. “It is truly inspiring to see Romanians reaching new heights — both literally and figuratively,” said the Ambassador.

He also expressed gratitude for a symbolic gift brought by Colibășanu from the summit — a climbing rope used during the expedition. “I am also grateful for the climbing rope he brought back from the summit! It’s a true token of courage and determination,” Excellency Stoenescu remarked.
