Romanian Foreign Minister Condemns Drone Attack on Nakhchivan in Call with Azerbaijan’s FM Bayramov

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana-Silvia Țoiu, held a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, during which the two sides discussed the current regional security situation and bilateral cooperation between their countries.

During the call, the ministers reviewed the latest developments in the region, with particular focus on the risks arising from escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Minister Țoiu was briefed on the drone attack launched from Iranian territory targeting Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure and injuries to several civilians.

The Romanian foreign minister strongly condemned the attack and expressed concern over the incident, stressing that such actions pose a serious threat to regional stability and security.

The two officials also exchanged views on the agenda of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Romania, including cooperation in the fields of energy security, transport and connectivity projects.

In addition, the ministers discussed other bilateral and multilateral areas of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
