Royal Oman Police Wins Arab Digital Economy Award 2025 for “Bayan” Customs System

Dubai, The Gulf Observer: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has been awarded the Arab Digital Economy Award 2025 in the Government Innovation category for its advanced electronic customs system, Bayan, during the opening of the Digital Economy Conference and Exhibition (Seamless Middle East 2025) at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The prestigious regional event, held under the patronage of Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the United Arab Emirates, celebrates innovation and excellence in digital transformation across the Arab world.
Representing the ROP at the award ceremony were Brigadier Said bin Khamis Al Ghithi, Director General of Customs, and Colonel Abdullah Said Al Kalbani, Director General of Information Technology.
The award honors institutions and initiatives that make significant contributions to the development of the digital economy, the creation of effective technical solutions, and the advancement of smart transformation systems in accordance with sustainable development goals and international standards.
The recognition underscores the Royal Oman Police’s commitment to digital innovation and its pivotal role in advancing the Sultanate of Oman’s technical infrastructure in alignment with Oman Vision 2040.
The Bayan system, praised as one of the most advanced models of government digital integration in the region, has streamlined customs operations and accelerated business processes. Leveraging artificial intelligence technologies, it has enhanced the efficiency of customs services and facilitated international trade between Oman and partner countries.
Currently, Bayan offers over 495 electronic services and is integrated with 74 government and private entities, providing a unified and efficient platform for customs procedures.
The award is a testament to Oman’s growing leadership in digital governance and reflects the Royal Oman Police’s ongoing efforts to support economic diversification and international trade through innovation and digital excellence.
