Sadyr Japarov Meets Turkmenistan's Halk Maslahaty Chairman Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov

Ashgabat, The Gulf Observer: During a working visit to Turkmenistan, President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic met with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan. The meeting took place in the context of the International Forum celebrating the 300th anniversary of the renowned Turkmen poet and thinker, Magtymguly Fragi, as reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The two leaders discussed key aspects of bilateral cooperation, exchanging views on current issues affecting the regional and global agenda. Special emphasis was placed on the enhancement of trade and economic ties, collaboration in the energy and transport sectors, and cooperation in agriculture and industry.

The importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, rooted in the shared spiritual heritage of the two nations, was also highlighted. An agreement was reached to continue collaborative efforts in organizing cultural events, including Days of Culture, and to strengthen contacts in the scientific, educational, and sports domains.

As a symbolic gesture underscoring the cultural affinity between the two countries, President Japarov presented a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fragi translated into Kyrgyz.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of both Turkmenistan’s and Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to fostering friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation.
